(In)sensitivity

Photography Studio

You describe the installation as an “ecosystem of sensitivity” that reacts to humidity, temperature, and the viewer’s presence. How important was it for you that the work would not be just a stable object, but something vulnerable and changeable?
I find it very similar to interpersonal relationships. While the installation is stable within the space, it was essential for me to allow room for external factors that would help shape and transform it.

In your text, you consider paper a second skin, as it bears the marks of time, and reacts both to its surrounding conditions and to touch. Do you think paper and skin can be equivalent media for sensitivity?
I was reminded of the paper-thin skin that grandmothers often have. I think they are indeed very similar insofar as both are layered, vulnerable, and carry their own stories.

You chose lipstick as your medium. It is an object that is highly charged, both culturally and in terms of gender. I am curious what drew you to it. Is it the intimacy and connection to the body, or the social meanings it carries?
Both aspects are dear to me and I feel they are part of it, but during the process itself, the question of intimacy and the body emerged as the more important one.
